Take the Quiz here!
She's one of my favorite female characters of all time.... so, naturally I agree with this quiz! (= And, is it merely a coincidence that this picture happens to match the colors of my Xanga site which I haven't been on in forever??? I think not.... (=
I know... it's been forever since I have been on here. Seriously. Probably over 6 months now. I am never on any blog site anymore because my work blocks them. So, for all inquiring minds....
-Yes, David and I still live in Kenosha, WI (it's been almost 5.5 years that we have lived here!!). Yes, I know: we are crazy to have lived here this long... but, what do you do when it's where God has placed you? You love, trust and obey! -This November, it will be our 5 year wedding anniversary... crazy! -No, we do not have any children yet. But, we do sponsor a boy and a girl in Thailand through Compassion International. Yes, we plan on having children in the future, in the Lord's timing and will. -Yes, David still has a band. They are called Leo (see previous post and go to their website for up-to-date info). -My dad did end up passing away (due to the cancer; again, see previous posts) on 2/14/08. God has taught me so much since then... -Yes, I am still leading worship. I lead for our local church body here: www.livinglightchurch.com -My 10 year high school reunion is next year... CRAZY! -Yes, all my family still lives in Florida, and all David's family lives in Colorado (well, except his brother and brother's wife, who live with us for this season of their lives while she goes to cosmetology school out here and he plays drums in David's band). -I work for the largest hospital system in Wisconsin in the Human Resources department as a recruiter for the local hospital/clinics. I have worked there for 8 months and it has been a total answer to my prayers!! David still works at Starbucks (5 years this fall!) and works for his band. -Yes, David is still extremely handsome, wild, strong, passionate, caring, tender-hearted, crazy at times, adventurous and has continued to grow into a more incredible man of God year after year... oh, you didn't ask about that? (=

We love you, all of our old friends scattered across the nation(s). We thank our God when we remember you!
The following are lyrics from a song that was a favorite of mine (well, and still is) while on the road with the Ministry Team. Back then, I remember listening to this song and thinking about all the people I got to meet and come to know on this journey (on the road and in life), and I remember wondering where I and my teammates would be 7 years from that point. Well, this year is 7 years from the end of my first year on the road, and 7 years since the beginning of my second year on the road. Here are the lyrics:
"How many miles ahead? I can't count the ones behind to all the friends that we've collected, all the people we respect. For the hope and joy that comes with you, I made this up and wrote it down and dedicate this song to you.
How many miles ahead? I can't count the ones behind. I wish you godspeed friend; you're always on my mind. And will you remember me, say 7 years from now? And where will we be then? Well, I'm here for you now..."
-Dedication, The OC Supertones
Here it is: 7 years later. Know that although we are all on different roads of life, I remember you (each one of you on both of my ministry team years) and thank God for letting me be a small part of your journey!

| Yes, that's right! I got a job offer and accepted it yesterday!! I will be a recruiter for Aurora Medical Center in Kenosha (it's basically like my job now, but no sales, recruiting for different positions, more money, same hours, and closer to home). The whole process was totally "God orchestrated", and meets or exceeds my desires for a new job. I am amazed and very thankful. I do like my job here at Randstad, and will especially miss the people (like Sarah!), but really feel like this is an answer to a prayer I started praying last January. Yea!!! (= | | |
| Hello there, I think it is about time for me to post again. Life has been as it tends to be (busy!), and things have been going pretty well for David and I. Have also been praying for a different job by the winter (let me know if anyone knows of any good ones!). Lately, I have been thinking about all the times in my life that God has shown His love and faithfulness to me in tangible, amazing ways. Here are a few.. ~He provided for all my years at the Honor Academy internship (and my parents didn't have to pay anything!). That is at least $17,000. Ditto for all my mission trips: $15,000+. ~He provided for me that day that I needed to raise close to $1,000 in one day for my trip to New Zealand. I couldn't do anything to raise it myself, as I was working all day at Teen Mania. A few wonderful friends took up my cause (Liz Thompson, Matty O, Amy, Krista, Crystal, etc) and emailed all our old Ministry teamers and asked for their support. The goal was surpassed at 6:00pm that day! ~I didn't have any money on the road with ATF, but I knew God's provisions in so many ways! One cool story is when I came back to my dorm room and found a bottle of my favorite perfume sitting on my bed with a ribbon tied around it. No one knew that was my favorite perfume, and no one knew I was all out. When I tracked down who gave it to me, she just said she saw it in the store, and felt like God told her to get it for me. (= ~When I didn't know if I should stay another year at Teen Mania or go to the School of Worship, he sent someone to me while all the way around the world in New Zealand, who totally showed me what was in my heart, and confirmed my steps. ~When I needed over $300 to pay rent for the past two months while on the school of worship, I prayed, knowing that God would provide. My mom expected me to come home at that point (she let me know that). I told her that I knew God was going to provide. THAT DAY, I got a check in the mail for $400 from a church in Florida! ~At the end of the School of Worship, I still had $2,500 to pay off. So, what happens? Teresa came up to me to say that someone just gave her a check to pay off the whole amount of my school debt! ~Providing me another bridesmaid dress for Jonny and Pietze's wedding, on the morning of the wedding, when the dress was no longer in stores! And always remember the little things, too, that He does... like: free meal coupons when we are low on money, nice gifts/checks from people exactly when we need a little boost or when the car breaks down, the sun shining on your face when you need a nice drench of sun, a kind/encouraging word that makes your day, a scripture that totally speaks to you and encourages you, etc... I could go on and on. I remember, Lord.... Thank you! (***UPDATE: since posting the above yesterday, David and I got a check in the mail from our mortgage company for $200, saying that they overcharged us, AND, I won a free all-inclusive cruise of two to the Bahamas!--which, I now put in my sister's name, as the cruise leaves from FL, and to bless her. Praise the Lord... He is continually good!) | | |
